Eclectic Styles Strings Workshop
March 6, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m
The Eclectic Styles Strings Workshop is an event put on by the Friends University Strings department open to middle and high school violin, viola, bass and cello players. The workshop is for students who like to learn new and exciting musical genres on their instruments, as well as foster their musical creativity and expression.
Clinician Eugene Friesen is a four-time Grammy Award-winner who is active internationally as a concert and recording artist, composer, conductor, and teacher. A love for music education has fueled his work teaching new string techniques and improvisation in the United States, Asia, Europe, Egypt, and South America. Eugene is an artist-in-residence at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, and on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
