“His blessings are new every morning… coffee just helps you see that!” Haleigh Marie said this once in the promotions office, and I remember laughing and thinking “that’s brilliant.” So, that’s ultimately how our Minister Appreciation Month Grand Prize was determined to be the Ninja Specialty Coffee Maker. Because every pastor needs to be able to start their day off right, and set their heart and mind straight, with a cup of happiness.
We continued on that theme of coffee and blessings with the rest of the gift basket, which includes a House FM coffee cup and a $50 Gift Certificate to the winning pastor’s favorite coffee spot. We have a set of four framed lyric prints from Kari Jobe’s hit song “The Blessing.” And since we’re pretty music-centered here, we’ve also included an Amazon Echo Dot and the Hillsong United album “Awake” (see what we did there?) And in order to encourage our Christ-centered pastors, we have also included a couple of daily devotionals, one for the winning pastor as well as a kid’s devotional for their family or church, donated to us from Charles Stanley.
We’ll be announcing the Grand Prize winner on the Wake Up Morning Show on Friday, Oct. 30th. Until then, you can get your nominations in at this link by telling us what makes your pastor such a positive influence in your life. Your nomination may also be read on-air so even if your pastor isn’t selected as the winner, they could still get some well-deserved recognition during Minister Appreciation Month. And every Friday we’re randomly selecting one nominated pastor to win a small gift basket and $25 Gift Certificate to be delivered by a House FM DJ.

The nominations we have had so far have been so encouraging. From pastors with decades of experience to some who started just as everything about church worship changed in response to the COVID pandemic, pastors have been praised for learning new technologies and handling the challenges with grace. Many people who nominate their pastors share personal stories of their pastor helping them through difficult times of stress, grief, illness, addiction and more. Some also talk about the sermons, mission work, or other ways their pastors show their heart for bringing new believers to Christ.
It’s a beautiful thing and that’s why we believe Minister Appreciation Month – and even your minister, personally – deserve some credit and recognition on The House!
