To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, a lot of companies are having their employees work from home…however, not everyone has been fortunate enough to have that option. For a lot of folks, they’re unemployed until further notice. I have some friends who are in this situation and if that’s you, know that we’re praying for you.

However, the situation hit a little closer to home for me yesterday, when my husband received a text that his place of work is shutting down until further notice. They don’t know for how long and they have no idea if they’ll be paid during this time. Now, I’m not going to sit here and pretend like this situation doesn’t stink, because it does. To lose a source of income that you count on to pay bills, get groceries….that’s terrifying. To be totally honest, I did what every person does, I let my mind fill with questions of, “how am I going to provide enough income.” “How am I going to pay for groceries.”  “How am I going to support my family.”

Then, I was overcome by the presence of God with the reminder of Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path.” All of a sudden, it wasn’t, “how am I going to support my family.” It was, “GOD will support my family. GOD will provide enough income.” Get rid of the “how am I” mentality of your situation and change it to, “God will.” Remember, you’re not alone during this time of uncertainty, God will provide.
